I work from photographs to achieve a remarkable likeness of your animal friend, and I use unusual and beautiful colors to bring out the personality of the particular creature. The paintings are done in pastels or acrylics. The actual size of the sample paintings vary from approximately 15" x 13" to 24" x 38".

What to expect

I would be delighted to paint your favorite reptile, bird, cat, dog, fish or any animal that you love (or have ever loved). I need two to three months to work on a painting, so if you want to give one as a gift, please plan ahead.

To get started, contact me to arrange to send 5 to 10 of your favorite photos of the subject and a 50% downpayment. If you are local to the San Francisco Bay Area, I will happily come to your home to take pictures of your pet.

I select the photo that will make the best composition. If you want a clear crisp painting, please send in-focus images. (I paint what I see). I choose the colors, but if you have a favorite color, please let me know. I do not paint in realistic color, although some bits of the animal's natural colors tend to slip in.

Painting sizes and prices do not include frames or shipping. Acrylic paintings have painted edges and do not need frames. Pastels must be framed and glassed to preserve their color. Please keep in mind, these are original art works, not reproductions.
